it’s really cute. As in every character is really cute, including the mc (I wish more works did this.)
I’m the sort who never uses consumable items in RPGs, so it was pretty hard having a squad made of consumable items, but I (mostly) got over it after figuring out a cycle of infinite resources. in hindsight, I could’ve probably made a ton of single use cannon fodder spirits as indirect attacks for mc, but it all worked out so far.
It did feel a bit like fights were intimidating (when I had a sizable group of spirits and xp to potentially lose,) but that’s entirely a me problem and not a flaw of design. it made me uncomfortable, but that’s a unique experience.
Oh also, in terms of “content,” I like everything. Every single scene. I’d like a way to willingly “play” with everyone, eventually, since I’m not made of essence. Well actually, because I am made of essence, and I don’t wanna lose it all ☆
Anyways, this is a very fun game that I also found to be unique in gameplay and presentation. You have my gratitude for creating it.

It genuinely means a lot ^-^ There is a way to play the scenes without losing essence in the SubStar version of the game right now, although it’s not exactly written to be ‘willing’ (I wanna have Sam become willing more gradually), either way it’ll be added to the free version here in 0.1.3 :)

If you’re planning to have Sam develop interests and preferences gradually in an organic way, that’s especially exciting, since I love that sort of characterization. It’s even better when it’s in a medium like this ♡

took me like an hour and a half to figure out where the queen slime was because I didn't notice the names of different areas when you go through a load zones until about 3 hrs into the game
Honestly no idea what I'm meant to be doing. Clearly there's more to this than I've seen, but I cannot for the life of me figure out where I'm meant to go after beating the slime queen. Is that it? Am I meant to just be beating up random monstrae with my Bluewood Spirit?
Thats about all there is to the story for now, sorry, unless you haven’t interacted with the Bluewood Spirit in the crypt. I have a lot of expansions to the world and story planned for the future though! Im working on an update to bring in some new monstrae and a new area, should be done within a couple months maybe.
I’m not sure i will since access to the Journal is through a keybind, so on a touchscreen device you just wouldnt be able to use some of the game’s key features
Are spirits supposed to disappear after you use them? Because they do regardless of if they survive the fight or not? also Maybe include a way to heal? Like say heading back to bed? Cause one fight and you're just instantly defeated after because you're weakened, y'know?
I'm rather quite enjoying the game so far! I always love seeing lore and stories in games like these because I can see the passion being put to work in the project. I have a few bugs I've noticed that I'd like to report really quickly, and a few suggestions.
The most major bug I've found is that the Forest Arion still did her scene after I defeated her. I couldn't quite recreate it since I kept losing to her after, so it could have been a glitch. This next one is minor, but I could try and craft a major spirit with the shrine before I got the journal.
A few suggestions then, which is most likely already being worked on, so apologies if I'm just spewing thoughts: In the beginning I was rather confused on what to do after I talked to the mayor. There were really no signs other than go to the shrine. It took me a little bit to realize I could go up past the shrine through the pathway to obtain the journal. My suggestion is a bit more directions? And possibly a bit more leniency on combat, as in the beginning of each turn i have to either tank the first hit as I summon, or use my focus or dodge to just spam simple spells on the enemy. I also haven't seen an increase on mana for the journal, but I'm only on level three so that may just be bad playing on my part.
Other than that, pretty good game so far! Keep doing what you're doing and I'm sure the game will grow.
Thank you for the feedback! I believe the issue with the Forest Arion should be fixed in the most recent version of the game, but if it’s not I’ll have it resolved in 0.1.0. I think I’ll add a suggestion to the player to try and leave the village after their first encounter with Sitria, hopefully that will alleviate any confusion about where to go at that point. As far as combat goes, Sam’s options being quite limited (at least in the beginning) is mostly intentional, since I want the protagonist to feel weak. In an earlier version of the game you would have been able to summon at the onset of battle, so I may bring that feature back, although if you have any suggestions about what else Sam could do in battle I’d be happy to hear them!
The protagonist seems to be mainly defending themselves, so maybe you could have the journal/spirits be able to protect them on their turn too? And maybe to show how weak they are, you could give them an action that does minimal damage when they're weak
hmm i might rework the Cobble Spirit to be able to protect a party member for a turn or two, i wouldnt want to add an ability like that to every spirit though it wouldnt serve much gameplay purpose but i kinda like the idea of sam having an action where he tries to damage the monstrae, it does nothing, and he ends up losing resolve as a result
ill think about what i could give him for the early game but tbh i think it might be best to stick with the sort of pokemon-style simplicity where every mon just knows tackle. as he levels up and acquires new items though he is intended to get more abilities and variety, they just arent in the game yet since this is the very beginning of the story i have planned
well it's an rpgmaker game so i doubt it needs renpy, what platform are you on? cos I know it works fine on windows but I have no idea about mac or linux
No audio is rough. It can really harm an otherwise great game. There are a lot of really good, free to use (with credit given) audio packs for most purposes. Lewd, vore, etc. I've seen quite a few released here on itch in the past year, so thankfully, you're not going to be breaking the bank to add it if you search around a bit!
Enjoying the game, but I think I've been softlocked. I think I'm at the part in the intro where it wants you to open the journal with C, but I when I press the button nothing happens. Using the newest windows version.
Yeahh sorry about that. Someone reported the bug in my server and i think i already know what went wrong there. I’ll have a fix out a little later today :)

I have interacted with the spirit in the crypt and had her remove her mask, but that's as far as she's gone at level 20.
Yeah that seems to be a bug, ill have a fix out for it later today
Personally, I'd be exited to see if she gets a chance to perform any other types of vore on Sam.
maybe in the future :) im gonna focus on expanding the world while fleshing out some other characters for now though

Can you try and see if you can make those features accessible via icons through jornal or something? It's a suggestion.

Spirits vanishing after a battle will be adjusted in the next update, and you can go to the statue of Sitria in Gothspell to heal.

what app do i need to have to start the game because i know you need to have renpy for some games but i can't open this one.

Hmm looking around it looks like since I made the game in MV the game just wont work on newer Mac operating systems, specific macOS 11+…
There might be some workarounds but the ones i saw seem pretty complex and technical. Depends on your mileage i guess
